We are blessed as a parish to have a staff member who is
able to visit the homebound on a regular basis to bring Eucharist,
support, encouragement, prayer and friendship. |

|
|
Sr. Mary Noemi Kreppein, OP has been leading this ministry for
many years and has shared the journey of our elderly through joy and
hardship, sickness and death. She is happy to extend the care and love of
the parish to each person she visits. When requested, she will arrange for
the visit of a priest to offer Reconciliation or the Sacrament of the
Sick. |

|
Once a homebound person is no longer able to be cared for
at home, she often is able to continue contact in the nursing home or
hospital setting. Sister is a visible sign of God's love and a concrete
example of generosity and kindness. |

Any homebound person who seeks to benefit from this
ministry may contact the Rectory 718-268-6143
OLMInfo@mercyhills.org and make this need known. |
|

|
Volunteers assist Sister in a variety of ways, and are available to drive
her to her various homebound or nursing home destinations. Anyone who is
interested in helping as a driver is asked to contact the rectory and make
known the days and times he/she might be available for this ministry. |
